Follow the road around Viti Levu

The Tour of Fiji route has been designed to showcase the full character of Viti Levu, from coastal roads and river valleys to rewarding climbs, sweeping descents, and unforgettable island vistas.

Each stage offers its own personality and pace, creating a journey that is as visually rich as it is rewarding on the bike.

This is a route for riders who want more than point-to-point mileage. It is a carefully shaped experience that balances challenge with enjoyment, and physical effort with the quiet luxury of knowing every detail has been considered.

Below, you’ll find a stage-by-stage overview of what to expect on the road.

Stage 1 | Nadi to Sigatoka

68km | 458m Total Ascent

The Tour of Fiji begins with a beautiful coastal opening stage from Nadi to Sigatoka, tracing the western edge of Viti Levu through warm ocean air, village roads, and long stretches of island scenery.

The route is largely flat and fast to start, before gradually building into a more dynamic profile with two notable climbs that add both shape and interest to the day.

For safety, the first approximately 8 km will be neutralised, allowing the tour to roll out of Nadi in a controlled and relaxed manner before the stage truly begins.

Riders can expect a rewarding ride with 458 m of total ascent and 481 m of descent, finishing in Sigatoka after a stage that is as scenic as it is satisfying.

Stage 2 | Sigatoka Valley TT

38km | 373m Total Ascent

This stage offers a focused and atmospheric test through the Sigatoka Valley, following an out-and-back route from Sigatoka to Mavua and back.

The course is rolling rather than severe, with 373 m of ascent and 373 m of descent, giving riders a rhythmical day that rewards pacing, precision, and confidence on the bike.

Riders will start at one-minute intervals in reverse GC order, adding a sense of anticipation and tactical interest to the stage while preserving a calm, well-managed start.

With its valley scenery and measured profile, this time trial brings a different energy to the tour - less about the road ahead, and more about holding your line, finding your rhythm, and making every effort count

Stage 3 | Coral Coast to Suva

56km | 504m Total Ascent

Today’s stage follows Fiji’s beautiful southern coastline from the Coral Coast toward Pacific Harbour, with ocean views, changing terrain, and a strong sense of forward momentum throughout the day.

At 56 km, with 504 m of ascent and 507 m of descent, it offers a balanced profile that feels scenic and purposeful rather than overly demanding.

The stage will finish in Pacific Harbour to avoid the busier roads into Suva, allowing riders to end the day in a calmer, more relaxed setting while still enjoying a meaningful transfer onward.

It’s a stage that pairs coastal beauty with smart route design - giving riders the pleasure of the ride without the stress of urban traffic at the end.

Stage 4 | Korovou to Rakiraki

96km | 762m Total Ascent

This is the tour’s longest and most demanding day on the bike, a true signature stage that some tours would proudly call the Queens Stage.

The route stretches 96 km from Korovou to Rakiraki, with 762 m of ascent and 747 m of descent, combining early climbing, long stretches of rhythm riding, and a rewarding finish on the northern coast.

The opening section rises sharply, setting the tone with a substantial climb that rewards patience and steady pacing before the course settles into a more flowing middle phase.

From there, riders can expect a varied and memorable journey through inland Fiji, before the road turns north toward Rakiraki and a well-earned finish.

Stage 5 | Rakiraki to Ba

67km | 360m Total Elevation

The final stage of the Tour of Fiji is a rewarding coastal ride from Rakiraki to Ba, bringing the journey toward its close with open views, rolling roads, and a sense of celebration building all day long.

At 67 km, with 360 m of ascent and 376 m of descent, it is a comparatively gentler finale that allows riders to enjoy the last day with confidence and rhythm.

The profile is steady and approachable, with small rises and a handful of livelier sections to keep the day engaging without overshadowing the significance of the finish.

It’s a fitting final chapter for Raraba ni Viti, one that pairs the satisfaction of the road with the anticipation of arriving, together, at the end of an unforgettable island journey.
